CN inherited a small batch of ex-SP rebuilt SD45T-2s for iron ore service. The CN version includes nose headlight, modified “L” window cab, roof air conditioning, a five-chime horn on the long hood, walkway ditch lights, and a small front anticlimber. It also features fine-scale handrails, photo-etched windshield wipers, separate air tanks, LED lighting, see-through cab windows and radiator grilles, see-through dynamic brake fans, wire grab irons with rubber MU hoses, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers. The model rides on RP25-contoured nickel-plated wheels with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain, driven by a 5-pole motor with flywheels for smooth, quiet operation.
