HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper is an HO-scale freight car designed for realistic unloading on model railroad layouts. The five-bay design allows quick discharge, and it includes a removable load for interchange or display. The model arrives fully assembled and ready to run, with each car in the five-pack carrying a unique road number for roster variety.

Featuring newly-tooled, highly detailed injection-molded body, this hopper showcases separately applied metal grab irons and end cages (replacing molded railings) for authentic texture. It also includes detailed train brake line piping, an etched stainless steel brake wheel platform, and an accurately scaled hopper door linkage with a reshaped weight for improved see-through realism. The car uses body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and is weighted for optimum on-layout performance. It is designed for HO layouts with a minimum radius of 18 inches and is ready to integrate into a prototypical roster.
