HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper USSX #4 / 6 / 27 / 29 / 31 (ATH-1052)

HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid-Discharge Hopper cars are a five-car HO-scale freight set designed to faithfully reproduce five-bay rapid-discharge hoppers in prototypical service. The USSX road numbers include 4, 6, 27, 29 and 31, and each car is ready to run on standard HO track for immediate layout use.

Thanks to all-new tooling with increased fidelity, the cars feature removable loads, separately applied metal grab irons and end cages, detailed train brake piping, and an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform. They ride on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, use body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers, and are weighted for steady operation. Designed for HO layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius, the five-car set arrives fully assembled and ready to run.
