HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper is an HO-scale ready-to-run model that faithfully reproduces a five-bay hopper car used for rapid discharge service. It arrives fully assembled and weighted for steady operation, with machined RP25 wheels and body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers to ensure smooth performance on most layouts, even on curves as tight as 18 inches. The model is offered with five unique road numbers to suit a varied roster.

New tooling delivers heightened fidelity, including separately applied metal grab irons and end cages (no molded railings), detailed brake line piping, and an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform. The hopper door linkage is accurately scaled with a reshaped weight to enhance the see-through effect, giving a convincing prototype look on the layout or in a display setting.
