HO Scale Ortner 5-Bay Rapid-Discharge Hopper is a highly detailed, ready-to-run freight car model designed to faithfully reproduce the Ortner 5-bay hopper used for rapid unloading of bulk commodities. The model is fully assembled for immediate placement on an HO layout, with machined metal wheels in RP25 profiles and body-mounted scale double-shelf knuckle couplers for authentic operation.

New tooling delivers increased fidelity, including separately applied metal grab irons and end cages instead of molded railings, plus detailed brake line piping and an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform. The hopper door linkage is accurately scaled with a redesigned weight to improve the see-through effect, and the overall construction provides reliable weight and smooth running suitable for busy freight operation on HO layouts. The model is designed for HO layouts with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches.
