HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper is a highly detailed, ready-to-run HO-scale freight car designed to faithfully reproduce the Ortner 5-bay rapid-discharge hopper used on modern U.S. rail service. This five-car set includes removable loads and a unique road number on each car, delivering prototypical realism right out of the box, with newly-tooled tooling that raises fidelity and a sharply detailed injection-molded body.

Built for HO layouts, the cars ride on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and feature body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers for reliable handling. They are weighted for smooth, dependable performance on standard HO track with a minimum radius of 18 inches. Realistic detailing includes separately applied metal grab irons and end cages, detailed brake line piping, an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform, and accurately scaled hopper door linkage with reshaped weight for better see-through.
