HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper is an HO-scale freight car set that faithfully reproduces Ortner’s five-bay rapid-discharge design. This five-car collection comes with five unique road numbers and a removable load, letting you quickly build a believable roster and switch loads to reflect different eras. Each car arrives fully assembled and ready to run on an HO layout.

Built with newly tooled, high-fidelity injection-molded bodies, these hoppers feature separately applied metal grab irons and end cages, along with detailed brake-line piping. An etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform and accurately scaled hopper door linkage add to the realism, while body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on most HO track. Weighted for stable on-track performance and capable of negotiating 18-inch minimum-radius curves, this five-car set is ready to bring authentic hopper service to a model railroad.
