HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper USSX #9 / 12 / 17 / 20 / 25 (ATH-1200)

HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper is an HO-scale model freight car designed to reproduce a five-bay hopper used for rapid unloading on model railroads. It arrives fully assembled and ready to run, with a weighted body and a removable load to help simulate loading and unloading scenarios while fitting into prototypical fleets with distinct road numbers.

New tooling delivers increased fidelity across the model, including separately applied metal grab irons and end cages, detailed brake-line piping, and an etched stainless-steel brake wheel platform. Body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers, RP25-contoured machined metal wheels, and an accurately scaled hopper-door linkage with reshaped weight all contribute to a realistic, see-through look and smooth performance on common track. The design supports operation on layouts with minimum radii of 18 inches and is ready to add to an HO roster for credible, reliable operation.
