HO Ortner 5-Bay Rapid Discharge Hopper (ATH-1212)

HO-Scale Ortner Five-Bay Rapid-Discharge Hopper is a highly detailed, ready-to-run HO model of a five-bay rapid-discharge freight hopper. The set includes five cars with unique road numbers (107, 112, 118, 123, and 139) to add realism to a yard or intermingled freight consists. It arrives fully assembled and weighted for smooth operation on standard HO track, with machined metal wheels (RP25 contours) and body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers. A removable load lets you display the car either loaded or empty to suit your scene.

New tooling delivers higher fidelity, including separately applied metal grab irons and end cages (no molded railings), plus detailed brake-line piping and an etched stainless-steel brake-wheel platform. Hopper door linkage is precisely scaled with a reshaped weight to improve the see-through effect. Designed for HO layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius, these cars are built for prototypical appearance and reliable performance across popular brands of track.
