HO EMD SD40-2 Locomotive BN #8135 (ATH-1234)

HO-scale EMD SD40-2 locomotive in Burlington Northern BN 8135 livery. This fully assembled, ready-to-run model recreates the Dash-2 era’s rugged performance for authentic operation on HO layouts.

Prototype-inspired detailing includes see-through cab windows, visible dynamic brake and radiator fans, fine Celcon handrails, photo-etch windshield wipers, and accurately modeled fuel and air tanks. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive, a 5-pole motor with flywheels, and RP25-contoured wheels for smooth, reliable operation. Lighting features include bi-directional LED headlights, with ditch lights and beacons appearing where the prototype called for them. The model is available in DCC-ready form for easy DCC installation (21-pin NEM plug on non-sound versions) or as a sound-equipped variant with an onboard SoundTraxx Econami decoder and a single speaker for engine, horn, and bell sounds. Drawn from prototype resources for authentic paint and lettering, it is fully assembled and packaged for safe storage. Minimum radius is 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for best performance.
