HO Scale EMD SD40-2 Locomotive, WAMX #4170 is a ready-to-run HO model that faithfully reproduces EMD's SD40-2 freight locomotive in WAMX livery. It’s designed for both display and layout operation, delivering prototype-accurate detailing and reliable, smooth performance on HO track.

Built for HO layouts, the model features a heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel drive, and a 5-pole motor with flywheels for power and quiet operation. Realistic touches include see-through cab windows, fine-scale Celcon handrails, photo-etch windshield wipers, LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons, plus a detailed fuel tank and air tanks. Sound-equipped variants include an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami sound and a single speaker, operable in both DC and DCC; non-sound versions are DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug. The locomotive is designed for standard HO track with a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) and uses McHenry knuckle couplers with RP25 wheel contours for authentic, reliable operation.
