HO EMD SD40-2 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, RBMN 3051 is an HO-scale model designed to faithfully reproduce the classic Dash-2 era with modern, digitally controlled sound. This fully assembled, ready-to-run locomotive combines a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet operation on HO layouts, while details like see-through cab windows, a detailed fuel tank with gauges and fillers, separately applied air tanks, and fine-scale Celcon handrails enhance realism.

Inside, an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami delivers authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds, while the sounds also operate in DC mode with some limitations. A single cube speaker provides clear, balanced sound, and front and rear LED headlights with ditch lights and beacons add to the realism. The model features a heavy die-cast frame, complete electrical pickup, scale knuckle couplers, RP25-contoured wheels, and a five-pole motor with flywheels for smooth operation. It includes CV-based customization (a CV chart is included) and is designed for HO-track layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius, with 22-inch radii recommended for the best performance.
