HO EMD SD40-2 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, UP #8068 (ATH-1263)

This HO-scale EMD SD40-2 locomotive in Union Pacific livery (UP 8068) is a detailed, ready-to-run model built for HO layouts. It captures the look and performance of the Dash 2 era with a heavy die-cast frame and finely tuned detailing designed for realistic operation and display on modern layouts.

Sound-equipped with an onboard DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Econami sound, it uses a single cube speaker and operates in both DC and DCC. In DC, engine, horn, and bell sounds work, though some functions may be limited; in DCC, all functions are NMRA-compatible for CV programming. Features include LED headlights, see-through cab windows, fine-scale Celcon handrails, and photo-etch wipers, along with a robust all-wheel-drive drivetrain, RP25-contoured wheels, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers. It is designed for HO curves with a minimum 18" radius (22" recommended), and a CV chart is included to help configure lashups and operations.
