An HO scale FMC 4700 Covered Hopper three-pack in Burlington Northern livery, built for authentic freight service on HO model railroad layouts.

Each car features separately applied brake gear—including brake wheel, housing, chain, lever, air reservoir, brake cylinder and triple valve—and rides on 100-ton trucks with 36-inch nickel-silver wheels in RP25 contours for reliable operation on most track. Factory-applied roof walks, roof hatches, end details, ladders and wire grab irons add authentic detail, while see-through etched metal end platforms and roof walkways enhance depth. Two outlet grate variations further boost realism. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckles couplers and a weighted chassis promote smooth, prototype-style performance. All three cars in the pack carry unique road numbers, and the minimum radius is 18 inches, making them suitable for smaller layouts. The primed-for-grime finish duplicates the look of in-service equipment with faded base colors, providing an ideal starting point for weathering grime and rust.
