This HO-scale FMC 4700 Covered Hopper from the XTRA line is a detailed plastic freight car model designed for realistic HO layouts. It faithfully reproduces the 4700-series hopper’s profile and hardware, making it a credible addition to any freight consist.

Key features include separately applied brake gear, 36-inch nickel-silver RP25 wheels on 100-ton trucks, factory-applied roof walk, roof hatch, end details, ladders and wire grab irons, as well as two outlet grate variations. The highly detailed injection-molded body is accurately painted and includes see-through etched metal end platforms and roof walkways. Body-mounted operating scale knuckle couplers provide reliable coupling, and the model is weighted for smooth operation on standard tracks with a minimum radius of 18 inches. It’s also primed for grime weathering, with a faded base color matched to the prototype, offering an ideal starting point for adding grime and rust. Each release carries unique road numbers.
