HO Berwick Bathtub Gondola with Load is an HO-scale freight car designed to faithfully reproduce the bathtub gondola concept used for bulk cargo. Its tub‑shaped interior increases capacity by forgoing unloading gates, mirroring prototype practice for efficient bulk transport of materials like coal and ore. The model is weighted for stable operation and rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth performance on most HO track, while body-mounted McHenry operating knuckle couplers provide dependable connection. Authentic detailing includes separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, and it is sized to run well on layouts with a minimum 18-inch curve radius (22 inches recommended) for best handling.

Two variants are offered: a standard load version and a WPSX‑configured version representing different loading configurations. The finish is primed for grime modeling, delivering a faithful in‑service look with base colors faded to match the prototype and serving as a ready starting point for adding grime and rust. Historically, bathtub gondolas were introduced to increase bulk‑cargo capacity and, as newer equipment emerged, many found second lives in maintenance or other heavy‑service roles, often receiving extensions to boost volume.
