The primed-for-grime finish provides an authentic in-service appearance and serves as an ideal starting point for weathering with grime and rust. Historically, bathtub gondolas were designed to maximize capacity by removing unloading gates, and many were repurposed for heavier bulk loads, giving mid-century layouts a believable backstory.

Details include separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, with the car weighted for smooth, trouble-free operation. It uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and machined metal wheels with RP25 contours to track well on a wide range of HO-track brands. The weathering-friendly finish invites personalization, while the design supports curves down to about 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for flexible placement on typical HO layouts.
