Berwick Bathtub Extended Side Gondola is a scale-model freight car that reproduces the distinctive bathtub-style gondola used for bulk cargo. The extended body increases interior capacity to mirror prototype efficiency, letting a single car haul more between stops. It is weighted for steady, trouble-free operation and rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for reliable performance on a wide range of tracks. This version is offered as both a single-car model and a three-car set, ideal for building realistic freight trains.

The model features body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers for smooth, prototype-like coupling, and is primed for grime modeling with base colors matched to the prototype to provide a perfect starting point for weathering with grime and rust. The bathtub gondola design emerged to maximize capacity by forgoing unloading gates, and many extended cars were reinforced to handle bulk or maintenance loads. For layout compatibility, the car requires a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches, with a recommended radius of 11 inches to ensure smooth operation on standard curves.
