HO-scale EMD SD38 Locomotive MR #36 is a ready-to-run diesel-electric model that faithfully recreates General Motors Electro-Motive Division’s SD38 prototype. This MR #36 road-numbered unit features updated colors, dual strobe beacons, a 3,200-gallon fuel tank, rear-walkway brakes, dynamic brakes, and a firecracker antenna. It also offers fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, separately applied air tanks, and see-through dynamic brake and radiator fans for a highly detailed, realistic profile. A heavy die-cast frame and RP25-contour wheels help deliver solid traction and smooth operation on most layouts.

Fully assembled and ready to run, this model is designed for DC or DCC operation and comes in sound-ready variants with onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx, while non-sound versions include a 21-pin NEM DCC plug for decoder installation. LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons illuminate the locomotive as it runs, and a 5-pole motor with precision gears powers a quiet, smooth drive.
