HO EMD SD38 Locomotive MR #37 (ATH-1430)

HO EMD SD38 Locomotive, MR #37, is a ready-to-run HO-scale model that faithfully recreates General Motors’ SD38 diesel-electric locomotive. This detailed model combines a heavy die-cast frame with fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, and a realistically modeled fuel tank for a convincing prototype look. Fully assembled and ready to roll, it rides on RP25-contoured wheels and is designed to operate smoothly on layout curves as small as 18 inches (22 inches is recommended).

Electronics options are flexible: sound-ready variants feature onboard Econami sounds from SoundTraxx with full DCC functionality, while non-sound versions ship with a speaker installed and a 21-pin DCC plug for easy decoder installation. Standard features include LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons where applicable, dual strobe beacons, dynamic brakes, and rear-walkway brakes, plus all-wheel drive with precision gears, a 5-pole motor with flywheels, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers for prototypical operation.
