HO-scale Conrail EMD SD38 locomotive — a fully assembled, ready-to-run model designed to bring a classic six-axle diesel to life on a model railroad layout.

Packed with realistic detailing and performance features, the SD38 offers a Sinclair antenna, a Leslie RS3L low-clearance horn on the number board, and front and rear MU hose holders, plus see-through cab windows and separately applied air tanks. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a 5-pole motor and precision gears for smooth, quiet operation, with all-wheel drive and electrical pickup for dependable power. McHenry scale knuckle couplers and RP25-contoured wheels keep operation smooth on most HO track, while LED headlights, ditch lights and beacons (where applicable) add prototype realism. The model arrives fully assembled and decorated, ready to run, and is DCC-ready for easy decoder installation; sound-equipped versions include onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx with engine, horn and bell sounds and full DCC functionality, while non-sound versions are ready to accept a decoder as well. A Primed for grime option provides a weathered starting point to recreate an in-service appearance, and Genesis motor retrofit kit compatibility offers a path for future upgrades. Minimum radius is 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for best performance.
