HO EMD SD38 Locomotive with DCC & Sound, CR #6925 (ATH-1444)

HO-scale EMD SD38 Locomotive with DCC & Sound is a ready-to-run diesel-electric model designed to bring authentic late-1960s EMD power to HO layouts. Built on a heavy die-cast frame for solid traction, this six-axle SD38 is driven by a 16-cylinder EMD 645 prime mover and, in sound-equipped form, includes onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx for realistic engine, horn, and bell effects that respond to DCC control.

Detailing mirrors the prototype with fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, separately applied air tanks, and see-through dynamic brake and radiator fans. LED headlights with front and rear lighting (ditch lights where applicable), McHenry scale knuckle couplers, and RP25-contoured wheels provide authentic appearance and reliable operation on most HO track brands. The model arrives fully assembled and painted, ready to run out of the box, and offers a grime-ready finish option to replicate weathered, in-service equipment; it’s DCC-ready with a 21-pin plug for decoder additions, and onboard Econami sound enhances operation in both DC and DCC modes with full NMRA compatibility in DCC.
