HO Scale Santa Fe EMD SD39 Locomotive, #1573, is a detailed-ready-to-run HO model based on EMD’s late-1960s SD38/SD39 family. The locomotive features a heavy die-cast frame for traction, a 5-pole motor with flywheels for smooth operation, and finely detailed components such as see-through cab windows, separately applied air tanks, and scale-thickness handrails. The body is painted and printed to resemble the prototype, with LED headlights and, where applicable, ditch lights and beacons to enhance nighttime realism on the layout.

Available in sound-equipped and non-sound versions, both are DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug for easy decoder installation. Non-sound models include a pre-installed speaker to support a future sound upgrade. Features include all-wheel drive with precision gears for quiet operation, RP25-contoured wheels, McHenry scale knuckle couplers, and a heavy die-cast frame for sustained pulling power.
