HO EMD SD39 Locomotive MNS #41 (ATH-1450)

HO EMD SD39 Locomotive, MNS #41 — a detailed HO-scale replica of General Motors' EMD SD39 diesel locomotive, designed to sit on an HO layout and capture the late-1960s prototype’s look and feel. Based on the SD38/SD39 platform, it reproduces the six-axle frame and 2,300 horsepower turbocharged V12 powerplant with authentic scale details. The model is offered in both sound-equipped and non-sound variants: sound-equipped units include onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx with full DCC functionality, while non-sound versions ship with a speaker installed and a 21-pin DCC plug to accept a decoder.

Specific to the MNS version are extra prototypical touches like an operating rooftop beacon (active on DCC+sound), cab-mounted A/C and antenna plane, and a Leslie RS3L horn on a bracket, plus slug control boxes and no class lights. Across all variants, the locomotive features fine-scale handrails, separately applied air tanks, see-through cab and radiator fans, a detailed fuel tank, and a heavy die-cast frame for traction. It rides on RP25-wheel contours with McHenry scale knuckle couplers, arrives painted and decorated, and is fully assembled and ready to run out of the box. It’s compatible with Genesis motor retrofit kits and is designed for HO layouts with minimum radii of 18 inches (22 inches recommended).
