HO EMD SD39 Locomotive with DCC and Sound ATSF #1565 (ATH-1454)

HO-scale Santa Fe EMD SD39 diesel locomotive with DCC and sound, road number 1565, is a ready-to-run model designed to capture the look and operation of a mid-1960s six-axle EMD diesel on modern layouts.

Sound-equipped versions include Onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx, with engine, horn, and bell sounds that operate in both DC and DCC and full DCC functionality when used in DCC mode; a DCC-ready 21-pin NEM plug is provided for decoder installation. The model features fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, separately applied air tanks, a detailed fuel tank, and see-through dynamic brake and radiator fans for realism. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive, a 5-pole motor with flywheels and a multi-link drive train for smooth, quiet operation, and RP25-contoured wheels for reliable tracking. Lighting includes LED headlights (and ditch lights/beacons where applicable). It ships fully assembled and decorated, ready to run out of the box, with a minimum 18" radius (22" recommended), and is compatible with Genesis motor retrofit kits for future upgrades.
