57-foot Mechanical Reefer in ARMN markings, faithfully recreating Fruit Growers Express’ mid-century mechanical refrigeration cars. Fully assembled and ready to run, it brings authentic period reefers to layouts for depicting how perishable cargo moved across the railroad network, with an option for authentic onboard SoundTraxx sound for added realism.

Underframe detail includes Keystone cushioning, air brake reservoir, control valve, brake cylinder, and fuel tank. It offers two exhaust stack styles—straight pipe with a flapper or a T-shaped smokejack—to reflect prototype variations. The model rides on 100-ton roller bearing trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels that operate on all Code 55 and 80 rails, and it features a highly detailed, injection-molded body that is accurately painted and printed. It is weighted for smooth, trouble-free operation, with a minimum radius of 9 ¾ inches and a recommended radius of 11 inches. Sound-equipped versions carry authentic reefer sounds recorded from a real unit, cycling on and off and controlled by the sound board, while grime-ready builds replicate an In-Service look with faded base colors and provide a solid starting point for adding grime and rust.
