HO-scale 57-foot FGE mechanical reefer in faded green, primed for grime, is a ready-to-run model that faithfully recreates a real refrigerated freight car used to move perishables across the rails.

Featuring authentic underframe detail, including cushioning, air brake reservoir, control valve, brake cylinders, and a fuel tank, plus a choice of exhaust stacks—straight pipe with a flapper or a T-shaped smokejack—to match different prototypes. The car rides on 100-ton roller bearing trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels and body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, is fully assembled and accurately painted, and is weighted for dependable operation on Code 55 and 80 track. A minimum radius of 9¾ inches is required, with 11 inches recommended. Sound-equipped versions deliver real reefer audio recorded from an actual unit, cycling on and off and letting the volume be adjusted on the sound board. The primed-for-grime finish mirrors the in-service look with faded base colors, providing an excellent starting point for adding grime and rust and capturing a weathered, working freight car on the layout.
