57-foot FGE mechanical reefer in white, a ready-to-run HO-scale model of a mid-century refrigerated freight car from Fruit Growers Express. Based on prototype drawings and field measurements, it captures the look and proportions of the era with a highly detailed injection-molded body, precise paint and printing, and authentic underframe detail such as air brake reservoir, control valve, brake cylinder, and fuel tank.

Two exhaust stack styles—straight pipe with flapper or T-shaped “smokejack”—reflect prototype variations, and the model features body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, 100-ton roller bearing trucks, and 36-inch machined metal wheels that run on Code 55 and 80 rails. It arrives fully assembled and ready to run, weighted for smooth operation and finished for prototypical realism. Some versions are available with onboard SoundTraxx sound—sound recorded from an actual reefer unit with adjustable volume and low track-power requirements—while grime-ready variants mimic the in-service look with faded base colors and a starting point for adding rust and grime to match the prototype.
