Scaled from prototype drawings and field measurements, it features authentic underframe detail—including cushioning, air brake reservoir, control valve, brake cylinder, and fuel tank—and two era-appropriate exhaust stack styles. Body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers and 100-ton roller bearing trucks with 36-inch machined wheels ensure reliable operation on Code 55 and 80 rail, and the model arrives fully assembled, accurately painted and weighted for smooth handling. Its minimum radius is 9 3/4 inches, with 11 inches recommended for the best curves.

Sound-equipped operation uses audio recorded from an actual reefer unit, with sound that can cycle on and off and volume adjustable on the sound board for realistic layout ambience.
