HO GP50 Locomotive BNSF #3146 (ATH-1502)

HO GP50 Locomotive BNSF #3146 (ATH-1502)

HO GP50 Locomotive in BNSF livery, unit number 3146, is an HO-scale diesel model designed to bring a classic EMD GP50 to life on a layout. Fully assembled and ready to run, this locomotive features Legendary Liveries paint schemes and realistic detailing that replicate the prototype, including see-through cab windows and factory-installed Celcon handrails.

Under the shell, the GP50 delivers solid performance with a 5-pole motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drive for smooth, quiet operation. It uses an all-wheel-drive system with precise gears for reliable current pickup and traction on your layout. The heavy die-cast frame adds pulling power, while separately-applied wire-formed grab irons, horns, McHenry knuckle couplers, and nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours enhance realism and operation. Lighting includes LED front and rear headlights, ditch lights, and beacons where applicable, and the model is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug for easy digital control. It comes with replacement parts available, and is painted and decorated for lifelike presentation. In real life, the GP50 was a four-axle diesel built by EMD from 1980–1985, delivering about 3,500–3,600 horsepower and featuring anti-wheel-slip protection, dynamic braking, and an airtight hood—traits echoed in this faithful model. The minimum curve is 18 inches; 22 inches is recommended for smoother operation.
