Built around a heavy die-cast frame for traction, the GP50 features a 5-pole motor with precision flywheels and a multi-link drive for smooth, quiet operation. It offers all-wheel drive with reliable electrical pickup and nickel-plated, blackened machined RP25 wheels for dependable contact on HO track. Details include see-through cab windows, separately applied horns, Celcon handrails and wire-form grab irons, plus McHenry knuckle couplers for scale coupling. LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons illuminate operations where applicable, while a DCC-ready 21-pin NEM plug accommodates decoder upgrades or expansion of the DCC/sound package. Fully decorated and ready to roll, this GP50 matches prototype length of around 59'2" and is designed for HO layouts with minimum radii of 18" (22" recommended).
