HO ATH 40' 4-Bay Offset Hopper with Load (ATH-1572)

This HO-scale 40-foot, four-bay offset hopper with load is a detailed model designed to reproduce bulk-hopper service on HO layouts. It includes a removable load for display versatility and authentic detailing such as factory-applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps, end braces, and a brake platform, paired with McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for realistic coupling.

Riding on precision-machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and featuring separately applied brake gear—including a brake wheel and housing, air reservoir, brake cylinder, triple valve, and trainline with supports and a roping eye—the car is weighted for stable, reliable operation. It is built to negotiate an 18-inch minimum radius, making it suitable for most HO layouts. The prototype background highlights automated loading and unloading facilities for bulk commodities such as coal, which is reflected in the car’s removable load and detailed hardware.
