An HO-scale 50-foot FMC box car with offset doors, road number 1144, designed to bring mid-1970s per diem freight equipment to life on an HO layout. The model features a newly tooled body with road-specific doors, individually applied grab irons, end ladders and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etched cross-over platform and full underbody brake detail. Weighted for steady running, it rolls on 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and uses body-mounted scale knuckle couplers. It’s finished with painting and printing for realistic decoration and runs smoothly on curves as tight as 18 inches.

In addition, the model offers a grime-ready presentation that captures the look of in-service equipment, with faded base colors and room to add weathering for grime and rust. The 50-foot FMC design emerged in the mid-1970s per diem car boom, with door configurations tailored to customers—a heritage reflected in this faithful recreation that enhances era-accurate freight scenes.
