HO 50' FMC 5347 DD Offset Box Car ESLJ #7704 (ATH-1749)

An HO-scale model of the 50-foot FMC 5347 double-door offset box car, ESLJ 7704, designed for authentic freight operations on modern layouts. It features newly tooled bodies with road-specific doors, separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etched cross-over platform and full underbody brake detail. Weighted for optimum performance, it rolls on 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The shell is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and it’s built to run on HO layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius.

An optional Primed for Grime finish reproduces the in-service look with faded base colors matched to the prototype, providing a ready starting point for adding grime and rust. This FMC box car design reflects mid-1970s per diem box Cars and remains a compelling, historically grounded addition to contemporary layouts and dioramas.
