N 50' FMC DD Offset Box Car, UO #1503 (ATH-1762)

This N-scale model recreates a 50-foot FMC double-door offset boxcar, numbered UO 1503. It’s a ready-to-run representation that captures the distinctive styling of mid-1970s FMC boxcars, ideal for adding authentic freight service to an N-gauge layout.

Out of the box, the car is fully assembled with a highly detailed injection-molded body. It rides on screw-mounted, roller-bearing trucks and is weighted for smooth, trouble-free operation on Code 55 and 80 rail. Features include machined metal wheels and McHenry knuckle couplers, plus a clear plastic jewel box for storage. The minimum running radius is 9¾ inches. For weathering, a Primed for grime look duplicates the in-service appearance—with faded base colors matched to the prototype and a ready starting point for adding grime and rust—so it can be customized to match a layout's era and scene.
