N TankTrain Intermediate CGTX 79014/79015/79016 Model Train Car (ATH-1779)

This N TankTrain CGTX Tank Car is a ready-to-run N-scale model that faithfully recreates GATX mid- to late-20th-century tank cars. It represents two GATX classes—the older design dating back to 1977 and a newer design from 1982 onward—featuring accurate paint and period-specific details such as finely detailed walkways, manways, and load/unload plaques that vary by series for authentic prototypical appearance right out of the box.

Inside and out, the model is packed with authentic features: full underbody detail including air brake reservoir, control valve, and brake cylinder with plumbing; separate wireform grab irons and etched coupler platforms; 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps; and soft vinyl transfer hoses that bend as the car negotiates curves. It arrives fully assembled and ready to run, with body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers and 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for compatibility with most track. Minimum radius is 9 3/4 inches (11 inches recommended), making it a versatile addition to any N-scale layout across eras from 1977 onward for one class and 1982 onward for the other.
