N TankTrain Intermediate GATX Unnumbered Model (ATH-1780)

An N-scale TankTrain Intermediate GATX unnumbered tank car in White/Black, designed to add authentic GATX tanker operations to an N-scale layout. This ready-to-run model pairs high-level detail with reliable performance on standard tracks.

Two GATX classes are represented—the 282-series (1977–present) and 486-series (1982–present)—with accurate walkways, manways, end plaques, and full underbody plumbing. It rides on 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps and includes separate wireform grab irons, etched metal coupler platforms, and end-specific transfer plumbing. Soft vinyl transfer hoses bend realistically as the car negotiates curves, while the injection-molded body features body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers and complete underframe detail. The model uses 36-inch machined metal RP25 wheels for smooth operation on most track brands, with a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches and 11 inches recommended.
