N TankTrain Intermediate GATX White/Black Model (ATH-1782)

This N-scale TankTrain intermediate tank car in GATX white and black faithfully models a real midtrain tank car for modern railroading on an N-scale layout. Representing two GATX classes—the 282-series and the 486-series—it ships fully assembled and ready to run, making it easy to add prototypical equipment to a yard, spur, or mainline.

Details include finely detailed walkways, full underbody plumbing and rigging, and 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps. The model features separate wireform grab irons, etched coupler platforms, correct end features and transfer plumbing matched to each series, plus soft vinyl transfer hoses that bend through curves. It uses body-mounted McHenry knuckle couplers, full underframe detail, and 36" machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for reliable operation on most popular tracks. Minimum radius is 9 3/4 inches (11 inches recommended). The 282-series era covers 1977 to present, while the 486-series era covers 1982 to present.
