N TankTrain A/A GATX Quaker State Model (ATH-1788)

This two-car N-scale TankTrain A/A set recreates GATX Quaker State tank cars in a prototypical A/A consist. It represents both the 282-series (1977–present) and the 486-series (1982–present), offering authentic variation from two distinct GATX classes. Fully assembled and ready to run, the model features a highly detailed injection-molded body and accurate underframe detail for immediate operation on a layout.

Inside, you'll find finely detailed walkways, manways, and load/unload plaques, plus full underbody plumbing and rigging. The cars ride on 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Separate wireform grab irons and etched coupler platforms enhance realism, while soft vinyl transfer hoses bend realistically through curves. 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on common track, and a minimum radius of 9-3/4 inches (11 inches recommended) helps maintain reliable tracking on most layouts.
