N TankTrain Intermediate GATX Quaker State Model (ATH-1790)

Two-car N-scale TankTrain set featuring GATX Quaker State tank cars, designed to bring authentic mid- to late-20th-century freight power to an N-scale layout. Representing both the 282-series and 486-series, the cars are fully assembled and ready to run out of the box for immediate operation and display.

The model includes carefully detailed walkways, full underbody plumbing and rigging, 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating caps, and separate wireform grab irons paired with etched coupler platforms. Transfer plumbing and soft vinyl hoses bend naturally as the cars traverse curves, while 36" machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth performance on common track. Body-mounted scale knuckle couplers, complete underframe detail, and authentic paint and lettering enhance realism. The two-car set covers the GATX 282-series (1977 to present) and 486-series (1982 to present) eras, and is suitable for minimum radii of 9¾ inches, with 11 inches recommended for best clearance.
