N TankTrain Intermediate GATX Quaker State Model (ATH-1791)

This N-scale TankTrain intermediate tank car models GATX Quaker State service and is designed to bring realistic liquid-haul detail to an N-scale layout. Representing two GATX classes—the 282-series and the 486-series—it offers authentic variation across eras and is ready to run on standard N-track setups.

From the finely detailed walkways and full underbody plumbing to the 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps, the model emphasizes prototypical realism. Separate wireform grab irons and etched coupler platforms, plus accurate walkways, manways, and load/unload plaques per series, ensure authenticity. Transfer plumbing aligns with the prototype end orientation (A-end or B-end), while soft vinyl transfer hoses bend naturally as the car negotiates curves. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and paired with body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, full underframe detail, and 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on most track. Fully assembled and ready to run, it carries a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches and a recommended radius of 11 inches.
