This N-scale TankTrain Intermediate GATX White Tank Car is a ready-to-run model that brings authentic GATX tank-car operation to an N-scale layout. It represents two GATX classes—the 282-series and the 486-series—in a clean white livery, reflecting real-world tanks from the late 1970s onward.

Designed for prototypical realism, this car features finely detailed walkways, full underbody plumbing and rigging, 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps, and separate wireform grab irons with etched coupler platforms. It includes correct walkways, manways, and load/unload plaques by series, along with transfer plumbing tailored to each prototype end (A-end or B-end). Soft vinyl transfer hoses bend through curves as the car navigates tracks, while the injection-molded body and full underframe detail—air-brake reservoir, control valve, brake cylinder with plumbing—add to the authentic look. The model rides on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on standard track, and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Ready to run straight out of the box, it supports a minimum radius of 9.75 inches (11 inches recommended). The 282-series covers 1977 to present, while the 486-series extends from 1982 to present.
