This locomotive captures the classic Dash-2 era with a heavy die-cast frame, a precise 5-pole motor with flywheels, and all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet pulling. It rides on RP25 wheels with comprehensive scale detailing, including see-through cab windows, wire grab irons, coupler cut levers, and a fuel tank with gauges and breather pipes. LEDs illuminate the headlights, ditch lights, and beacons where applicable, and lighting can be controlled in DCC. A DCC-ready (non-sound) version uses a 21-pin NEM plug for decoder installation, while sound-equipped variants add onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Econami for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds.
