It features an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami sound and a single cube speaker, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DCC and DC operation (some functions are limited on DC). A heavy die-cast frame, a precise 5-pole motor with flywheels, and a multi-link drive train provide smooth, powerful operation, while RP25 wheel contours ensure reliable tracking on common HO tracks. Realistic touches like see-through cab windows and fine-scale Celcon handrails enhance the model’s presence on the rails.

OWTX-specific detailing includes a mid-production body with corrugated grilles, a cab-mounted gyralight, a nose-mounted headlight, extended-range dynamic brakes, whip antenna, and a 4,000-gallon fuel tank, paired with a Leslie 5-chime horn, an 88-inch nose with brakewheel, and MU hose trays.
