This HO-scale SD40-2 diesel locomotive with DCC and sound is a fully assembled, ready-to-run model designed to bring authentic freight-hauling power to a layout.

Powered by a five-pole motor with flywheels and all-wheel drive, it delivers smooth, quiet operation and solid pulling power. An onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami provides realistic engine, horn, and bell sounds, with audio through a single cube speaker that works in both DC and DCC modes; many functions are adjustable via CVs, and a CV chart is included. The model features LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons where applicable, see-through cab windows, flexible MU hoses and trainline hoses, wire grab irons, a detailed fuel tank with fillers and gauges, photo-etch windshield wipers, and a heavy die-cast frame for enhanced traction. Road-name variations for NS, HLCX, OWTX, and RBMN give era-accurate detailing, and the unit is ready to run on layouts that use minimum 18" radii (22" recommended).
