HO 50' Evans DD Plug Box Car USLX #12017 (ATH-1858)

This HO-scale Evans 50-foot double-door plug box car is an enclosed freight car designed to carry a wide range of loads on HO layouts. It features a pair of 8-foot plug doors and authentic detailing—separately applied grab irons, stirrup steps, end ladders, brake wheel and stand, plus underbody details—that together deliver a faithful mid‑century look.

Fully assembled and weighted for optimum performance, the car rolls on 33-inch solid nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours and uses body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers for smooth, reliable operation on common HO track. It’s finished with razor-sharp painting and printing and is designed for a minimum 18-inch radius, making it a practical addition to many layouts. Boxcars are enclosed freight cars suited to a variety of loads, and Evans produced numerous such cars from the 1960s through the 1980s, with EP Freight Cars remaining a familiar sight on hobby layouts.
