HO 60' FMC Smooth Side Double Door Box Car NS Ex-SOU #620024 (ATH-1967)

HO-scale FMC 60-foot smooth-side double-door boxcar in Norfolk Southern heritage livery, originally built for the Southern Railway, is a realistic model of a modern freight car for HO layouts. It’s designed to run on standard HO track and to slot into a wide range of scenes—from yard moves to through freights—capturing the look and versatility of today’s 60-foot boxcars that carry a variety of loads.

Details include double eight-foot Youngstown doors, separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etch cross-over platform. It rides on 100-ton roller bearing trucks and 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, with body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is highly detailed, and decoration is painted and printed for realism, with weight tuned for smooth, reliable operation. Minimum curve radius is 18 inches, making it compatible with most HO layouts. In prototype terms, this modern 60-foot boxcar is ubiquitous on today’s freight trains, able to carry a wide range of loads from auto parts to general goods.
