HO 50' PS 5344 Box Car LCRC #1010 (ATH-2049)

This HO-scale 50-foot PS 5344 box car, labeled LCRC #1010, is a highly detailed, ready-to-run model that faithfully recreates a classic 1970s Pullman Standard design. Decorated and fully assembled, it features separately applied wire grab irons, a brake wheel and end ladders, etched end platforms, and machined 33" solid nickel-silver RP25 wheels. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers pair with a weighted body for smooth, reliable performance on standard layouts, and the injection-molded body delivers exceptional detail. A minimum radius of 18 inches helps it operate on smaller hobby setups.

Prototype background and usage: In the mid-1970s, a boom in per diem box cars made the 50' PS outside-post design a mainstay for leasing programs, with varying door configurations and end styling to suit different customers. While modern freight has shifted toward containers, many of these cars were rebuilt for leasing fleets and still appear on today’s rails, making this model a credible, era-accurate addition to any layout.
