HO Impack Spine Car (ATH-2099)

HO Impack Intermodal Spine Car is an HO-scale model designed to haul 40–45-foot trailers in four- to ten-car intermodal trains. The design follows the Intermodal Package spine concept, rooted in the 1978 Santa Fe Fuel Foiler and license-built by ITEL starting in 1981, with real-world operators including BN, K&W, SSIX, SSW, and TTX.

On the model, features include 28-inch solid nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours, McHenry operating-scale knuckle couplers, a separately-applied brake wheel, and a hidden die-cast weight for stable operation. The injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration and is weighted for smooth performance on HO track, with a minimum radius of 18 inches. It pairs well with common 40- and 45-foot trailers in four- to ten-car trains, and running empties in dedicated trains or at the rear of mixed consists helps ensure reliable operation.
