HO Impack Spine Car ATSF #298969 (ATH-2102)

HO-scale Impack Spine Car in Santa Fe livery is designed to carry intermodal trailers, typically 40–45 feet long, in sets of four to ten cars. The design traces back to the late-1970s Santa Fe “Fuel Foiler” 10-unit arrangement and was license-built by ITEL starting in 1981, with operators including ATSF and several other carriers such as BN, K&W, SSIX, SSW and TTX.

On the model, expect a weighted chassis, 28-inch nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours, McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and a highly detailed injection-molded body that is painted and printed to reflect prototypical Santa Fe decoration. A hidden die-cast weight adds stability for reliable operation, and the minimum curve radius is 18 inches. For best results, run empty cars in dedicated intermodal trains or at the rear of mixed trains.
